Straight pull up

If you spot a good place for parking and decide to park there, mirror/signal to your direction, then pull your car’s nose out towards there, until kerb or border line hit the screen wiper reference point, pull straight and activate the parking reverse image manually, to see the gap between kerb and predict line. Drag a small amount of steering wheels for few centimetres surgical tuning.

Check all around from you to make sure your adjusting manoeuvres will not disturb other road users, you should give priorities to all other road users when you are relatively stationery compare to other moving vehicles.

In UK driving test, parking on the right side is a challenging manoeuvre test, because you should fully stop when you see other vehicles approaching you. Parking on the left, however, should be much easier and more common in your daily driving.

Parallel parking manoeuvres

If the good place you spot is just behind another parked car, you have to make such manoeuvre on the road, the “good place” between two car should give you at least 30 cm clearance to both sides.

It is good to fold your mirrors when your car is ready to park.

Hill Parking

First, avoid hill parking at best, if it is unavoidable, do it right.

When you are happy the position you parked, make sure pull up the parking brake before selecting parking gears, and make sure your wheels are going to hug the kerb if the braking failed.

Bird dropping hazard

Avoid pulling in your car under a tree, it is very annoying to wash a car with bird dropping, and it may erode your 车漆 by some acid content.

Parking / drop in a busy town road

Sometimes you may need to drop someone on a road, though you are not a Uber driver.
